Obituary

Charles Cris Hightower, known to many as Chuck or Cris, passed away on July 15, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born on October 6, 1950 in Garden City, MI, and most recently lived in Jackson, MI.

Cris grew up in Wayne, MI and served in the Vietnam War as an Army Infantry Scout. After being honorably discharged from the Army he worked for and later retired from General Motors. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual who took pride in his service to his country.

One of Cris's favorite quotes, reflecting his humble nature, was, "Don't ever be like me, be better.” He always hoped that his children would achieve more than him and surpass his accomplishments.

Cris was most proud of his children, his oldest son Michael, his wife Stacy and their boys CJ, Clayton, Sam, and Seth, his daughter Brittney and her husband Aaron and their kids Noah, Audrey, Elena, and his youngest son Steven and his fiancé Courtney and their boys Bradley, and Jackson. He loved them deeply and cherished every moment spent with them. His impact on their lives is immeasurable, and his love and guidance will live on in their hearts.

In addition to his children, Cris is survived by his sisters Cheryl, Vicki, and Renay. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend to many. He succeeded in death by his father Charles, and mother Maryanne.

His brother Terry, also a Vietnam War Veteran and Cris’s best friend, passed away in 2000.

Known for his humor and quick wit, Cris always aimed to make others smile. He had a knack for comedic timing and was often the life of the party. Despite his playful nature, Cris had a heart of gold and would go above and beyond to help as much as he could.

Cris's impact on the lives of others extended beyond his humor. Through his actions, he inspired others to be better, to laugh more, and to appreciate the simple joys in life. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Cris held Christian beliefs, finding solace and comfort in his faith.

In honor of his life, a funeral service will be held to celebrate the memories and legacy of Charles Cris Hightower. May he rest in peace, knowing he made a significant impact on the lives of those around him.
