Obituary

Charleen A. Sinko, lovingly known as Char or Aunt Leany, passed away on June 25, 2024, at the age of 65. She was born on January 3, 1959, in Sunbury, PA, where she also resided until her passing. Charleen's family was her greatest joy, and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

Charleen worked as a custodian for the Shikellamy School District until her health started to decline.

She took great pride in her role as a mother and grandmother, considering her family to be her proudest accomplishment. She leaves behind her sons, Andrew U. Frits and life partner Angela Derr, Jacob R. Hostetler, wife Joanna, and their children, as well as her daughter Brittany M. Burgess and life partner John Fox. Charleen is also survived by her siblings Raymond (Ed) Frits Jr., Kathleen Frits, Bonnie Frits, Mark Frits, and Pam Hollenbach, her grandchildren Dalton Frits, Colby Frits, Kaylee Frits, and Kyann Frits, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she shared very special bonds with. Her cat Olivia and her three grand kittys, Kitty, Baby, and Penny, were also cherished members of her family.

Charleen was known for her fun-loving, free-spirited, and charismatic personality. Her trademark greeting, "Helllurrrrrrr," always brought a smile to those around her. She enjoyed playing bingo alongside her son Andrew and daughter-in-law Angela, as well as shopping, dining out, and traveling with her daughter Brittany and John.

In her spare time, Charleen loved crocheting, cooking, baking, and playing bingo. She also treasured the simple moments spent with her family, particularly enjoying family picnics with all the fixings.

Charleen was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Fritz Sr. and Martha (Hare) Fritz, her brothers Ray and Daniel Comfort, her daughter Jonnie M. Hostetler, and her grandson Andrew U. Frits Jr.

Charleen A. Sinko will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the joyful moments they shared with her.

Per her wishes, Charleen asked for a cremation with no formal services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Additionally, there will be a gofundme set up in her honor to help with the cost of crematory services.
