Celia Verissimo Hansen, beloved wife, mother, and sister, passed away on March 12, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on October 4, 1949, in Campina Grande, State of Paraíba, Brazil, she was the daughter of loving parents Geneval and Alice Veras. Celia is one of five siblings who she loved dearly.
Celia dedicated her life to her family, finding joy in their happiness and wellbeing. She was a devoted wife to John Hansen and a loving mother to her daughter Valdilene, as well as a stepmother to her four stepsons Wayne, John, Douglas, and Jefferey. She was also Vovo to Lilianna , Andrew,Brady, William,Lailonie, Joey, Zackary and Kira. Celia cherished the time spent with her loved ones, and her greatest pleasure came from being surrounded by family.
An avid lover of music, Celia's favorite bands and musical artists included Roberto Carlos, Kenny Rodgers. Her passion for Brazilian soccer was eviden when FIFA was on. As she would often cheer for her favorite Brazilian team . Celia also had a deep appreciation for the beautiful beaches in Joao Pessoa, Brazil, considering it her favorite place in the world.
In her free time, Celia enjoyed watching Brazilian Novelas and reality television shows. She had a contagious laugh and smile that brought joy to those around her. Celia's sociable nature earned her the title of Drum Mayor during her high school years. She was quick to make friends who turned into family.
Celia's proudest accomplishment was becoming a United States citizen, a testament to her determination and love for her new home. She held strong religious beliefs and found solace in her Mormon faith, always cherishing her relationship with the Lord.
Celia will be dearly missed by her sisters Cecelia and Clelia, her brothers Walter and Celio, as well as her extended family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of treating everyone she encountered like family and spreading love and kindness wherever she went.
May Celia Verissimo Hansen rest in eternal peace, her memory forever cherished by those whose lives she touched.
