Was in the South African Airfoce ww2 and was shot down and wounded but recovered went on to Italy and Germany to win the war.
Reading his favourite was History The decline and fall of the Roman Empire The French revolution He was an inventor and invented quages for a brake press he was a qualified boiler maker and he was a Foreman at Emdeen Engineering who made Electrical Enclosures boxes for switchgear He also invented invisible gauges for these electrical boxes He trained as a tailor when he attended an orphanage during the 1930,a He also worked as a bus driver after the war And the post office where he met my mother in the 1940,a He also played 1st division rugby for Pirates in the 1940,s and was a winger and scored many tries
Trading his kids in sport and any other local kids as well Soccer Cricket Swimming etc His kids were the best swimmers in our area And some even made provincial swimmers
Never had tv but loved certain shows on radio like the goon show from the 1950/60
All sports was his passion
