Taking photos, annoying her cat Casper, hanging out with her friends, fishing on the ocean with her dad & brother, baking treats and paddle boarding.
Cassidy loved pickles!!! Shape, size or flavour did not matter to Cassidy. She was a pickle thief!
Cassidy loved a wide range of music genres. She would listen to Morgan Wallen, Ice Cube, Rihanna, Megan Moroney, Fleetwood Mac and whatever Portuguese music her Dad was listening to and many more.
Being around people. She was a social butterfly in every sense of the word.
Cassidy was just beginning to plan her dream trips. She couldn’t wait to travel and experience all that was out in the world. She couldn’t wait for beaches, adventure and all the heat. Cassidy had Hawaii as her number one spot, hoping to visit in the near future.
At age 3, Cassidy learned to skate at the Snow Valley Skating Club in Kitimat. She was so excited that her big girl cousins were in were her teachers. We weren’t too sure of her ability as she had a bit of a peg leg. That one leg would just not bend. After settling down in Terrace she joined the Terrace Skating Club where she built her skills and excelled. She had no fear and had no problem do anything her coaches asked of her. Cassidy won many medals in her competitions she competed in. She was a very elegant and graceful skater; a pure joy to watch.
From a young age Cassidy was a strong willed girl. She knew exactly what she wanted and worked hard to get it. She was the Queen of sass, and a fabulous soul made every moment with her unforgettable. She was small but mighty, lived her life on her own terms, never holding back, always shining brightly, and doing anything to make us laugh. Her fierce spirit and incredible energy will live on in all of us. There was no holding Cassidy back.
Cassidy Angelina Melo, born on February 7, 2006, in Kitimat, BC, passed away on November 6, 2024, in Terrace, BC. She was a vibrant spirit whose energy and sass touched everyone she met. Known affectionately as Sassy Cass or Cassie, Cassidy was a social butterfly who thrived in the company of others, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went.
Cassidy had a passion for photography and frequently delighted in capturing moments with her camera. She loved spending time with her friends, fishing on the ocean with her dad and brother Ryan and baking treats. A true pickle enthusiast, she was known as a pickle thief, relishing every shape, size, and flavor of her favorite snack.
Musically inclined, Cassidy enjoyed a diverse range of genres, from Morgan Wallen to Fleetwood Mac, often jamming to whatever Portuguese music her dad was playing. Her heart was set on adventure, with dreams of traveling, particularly to Hawaii, where she longed to experience the beaches and warmth of the sun.
From a young age, Cassidy demonstrated strength and determination, beginning her skating journey at the Snow Valley Skating Club, where she quickly developed her skills. She later joined the Terrace Skating Club, earning numerous medals for her elegant performances. Her fierce spirit was matched by her strong will; she proudly completed her high school requirements a semester early and recently celebrated her two-year anniversary at Mr. Mikes, where she was a dedicated employee.
Cassidy is survived by her loving mother Michelle (Kori), Proud Father Dean and big brother Ryan, along with her cherished grandparents David, Januario, Evangelina and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her favorite sayings, “If you never try, you never know” and “You are Strong, You are Brave, You are Loved,” will resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cassidy may be gone, but her vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and loving heart will forever remain in the memories of those she touched.
