Obituary

Carolyn Ann Wright, age 79, of Hale, Michigan, passed away on December 21, 2025. She was born on October 16, 1946, to JD and Hazel Maxine Gray in her grandmother's home in Reese, Michigan.

A graduate of LakeVille Memorial High School in Otisville, Carolyn pursued higher education at Central Michigan University, majoring in Home Economics. She was married to Dennis Wright for nearly 55 years. They built their home together in Otisville to raise their children and later retired to Hale to enjoy lakefront living. Carolyn worked at Mason Tackle in Otisville until the birth of their daughters and later provided in-home childcare for family friends. She eventually transitioned to a role as a cook for LakeVille Schools, where she served until her retirement.

Carolyn was an avid quilter, florist, and a talented cook and baker. She also enjoyed shopping, attending garage sales, and following U of M and FSU athletics. Her favorite evenings were spent watching programs such as Dateline, Blue Bloods, NCIS, and Jeopardy. Above all else, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Wright, daughters, Julie (Bob) Hughes and Jodie (Gordon) Wright Grandy, and her three grandchildren, Carter Jacob Hughes, Mayla Hope Grandy, and Jarrett Owen Grandy.

The family will receive visitors at the Hale Methodist Church (201 W. Main St, Hale, Michigan, 48739) on Friday, January 23rd from 3pm to 7pm and Saturday January 24th from 12pm until the start of the memorial service at 1pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Hale Methodist Church or Hale Area FISH.
