Carol Louise Schmidt of Janesville, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother, passed away on June 6, 2024, at the age of 61. She was born on April 12, 1963, in Oak Park, IL.
Throughout her life, Carol found joy in various hobbies, including gardening, crafting, fishing, and reading. However, her true passion lied in nature, and she found solace in her garden, which she considered her favorite place in the world. Carol was an avid fan of horse racing and enjoyed following the sport.
Professionally, Carol was an accomplished optician, dedicating her career to helping others with their vision needs. She took pride in her work and was admired by colleagues and customers alike.
Carol lived her life by the motto "Some Times the Dragon Wins," embracing the challenges that came her way with strength and resilience. She cherished her family dearly and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. Carol is survived by her children Richard (Crystal) Mraz and Bobby (Nemesis) Quick, and grandchildren Brailynn, Hailey, Owen, Olivia and Milo. She is also survived by her loving parents Gerald (Debra) Schmidt, and her sisters Kristen (Kevin) O'Toole and Collette Schmidt, and her nephew and niece Seamus and Madeline.
Carol Louise Schmidt will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of nature she so adored.
