Carol Jean Monk, age 87, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024, in her hometown of Newport, WA. She was born on March 4, 1937, in Newport, WA, and had resided there throughout her life.
Carol was deeply devoted to her faith and cherished her family above all else. Her love for God and her loved ones was evident in every aspect of her life. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as savoring a slice of pie accompanied by a cup of coffee.
A dedicated wife, Carol had been married to Franklin Jed Monk since August 7, 1955. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children: Brian Monk (Theresa Monk), Barry Monk (Lynnel Monk), and Christina Johnson (Troy Johnson). Carol reveled in the roles of both mother and grandmother, delighting in the company of her seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Kind-hearted and with a pure soul, Carol was known for her unwavering kindness and compassion towards others. She embraced her Christian beliefs and was a faithful member of the Dalkena Community Church for over 80 years.
In her leisure time, Carol enjoyed watching "Jeopardy" and testing her knowledge. She was always eager to learn and engage in intellectual pursuits.
Carol Jean Monk leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness. She will be dearly missed by her beloved spouse, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known her. May she find eternal peace in the arms of her heavenly Father.
