Obituary

Carol Jean “Mike” Aalbers, born on June 28, 1943, in Grand Rapids, MI, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2024, in Bullhead City, AZ, where she had made her home in recent years.

Mike was a devoted wife to Glen, her husband of 61 years, and a loving mother to Daniel and his wife Sharon, David, and Denise and her husband Aaron. She took immense joy in her role as a grandmother to her six grandchildren: Macy, Sarah, Remington, Hannah, Meghan, and Benjamin.

Known for her wit, kindness, and zest for life, Mike embraced every moment with a generous spirit. She was actively involved in her community, cherished her friendships, and loved getting to know those around her. Mike found happiness in her many hobbies, including scrapbooking, singing with Sweet Adelines, walking on the beach, reading, and making Poochies. She also had a soft spot for butterscotch pudding, a hot cup of coffee, and any delicious food or dessert she could find.

Music was a significant part of her life; she enjoyed singing classic country, choral music, and oldies, with Sweet Adelines and Colin Raye being among her favorites. Whether spending time outdoors in the sunshine or engaging with her family, Mike’s positivity was infectious.

She is survived by her husband Glen, brothers Dick and Harry, as well as her beloved children and grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 3 PM at Bullhead Belle, 1251 AZ-95, in Bullhead City, AZ.
