Carol Ann Godboldo, born on December 3, 1946, in Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. Carol was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great. grandmother. Known affectionately by some of those closest to her as: "Motherlove", "OG", "bestie bestie", and "Big Bird".
Carol found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved playing cards, listening to Motown music, and savoring traditional Southern dishes like pig feet, pig ears, and neck bones. Her home was her favorite place, where she spent cherished moments with her husband, Junius Dean Godboldo Sr., whom she married nearly 50 years ago. Together, they created a warm and loving environment that was a sanctuary for their family.
An avid fan of television, Carol could often be found in her comfortable chair or bed, watching her Lifetime movies, episodes of "Law & Order," or cheering for the Detroit Pistons. Her spirit shone brightly through her laughter and her favorite saying, "Yeah right" and "thats sh*t" Oops lol.
Carol worked at Tops hamburger restaurant and White Castle. She was known for cooking extraordinary dinners, bringing her family together around the table. Her proudest accomplishment was marrying Dean and raising their six children: Beverly, Lydell (Shelly), Nina, Junius Dean Godboldo Jr. (Dinkey), Oudrey, and Cliffton. Carol was also a cherished grandmother to 16 grandchildren, in which Dwight Bell being very close to his grandmother, would visit regularly every other day to play cards or connect four with her. Our mom also had 29 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Carol's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to her family will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
