Carly Elizabeth Spring, affectionately known as Liza Jane or Gee Gee, passed away on July 24, 2024, at the age of 37. She was born on July 31, 1986, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Carly most recently resided in Rockport, Texas with her loving husband and grandmother, Julie Norman.
Carly had a diverse career, showcasing her talents in various fields. She was a skilled baker, delighting many with her delicious creations. She also excelled in restaurant and catering services, leaving a lasting impression on those she served. Carly's passion for hospitality and nutrition services reflected her unwavering commitment to ensuring the well-being of others.
Carly's favorite quotes and life mottos reflected her strong spirit and determination. She believed in the power of resilience, often reminding herself and others, "Know better, do better." Carly loved music, movies, and dance, and had a particularly affinity for all things 90's. Carly's indomitable spirit, radiant smile, and contagious laughter were an inspiration to all who knew her. Carly excelled in grade school as a competitive cheerleader. She brought grace, athleticism, and enthusiasm to the sport, and delighted all who had the opportunity to watch her shine.
Carly is survived by her soulmate and husband, Alex Norman, her stepson, Phoenix Norman, her loving mother, Cheryl Waller, and her devoted father and bonus mom, Pastor Jeff and Angie Collins-Spring. She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Holly Spring-Farnell and Mary "Katy" Walker, as well as her brothers-in-law, Jason Farnell and Nathan Walker. Carly's memory will live on in the hearts of her cherished nieces and nephews: Mason Farnell, Madeline Farnell, Mary Jane Farnell, Miller Farnell, and Jameson Walker. She will be remembered fondly by her maternal grandmother, Betty Waller, and her paternal grandparents, Dr. Charles Payne and Marietta Payne. She will be welcomed in Heaven by her paternal grandfather, Dr. James Spring, her maternal grandfather Robert Waller, and her oldest brother James Robert "Jim Bob" Spring.
Carly's defining personality traits included her fierce loyalty, unwavering love, and acceptance of all. While Carly was raised in the Christian church with her family, she recently made the decision to further study and follow the teachings of Christ. In Rockport, she attended theology classes and mass regularly at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
A local service will be held to celebrate Carly's life at Trinity Worship Center in Springhill, Louisiana, on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM, with a service for friends and family to gather and share memories to follow. TWC is currently in the process of designing and constructing an accessible playground in memory of Carly and her brother, Jim Bob, for the families and community to join in fellowship and bring more smiles to the children of this world. Donations can be accepted on this site via the fundraising link attached, or through the church, in lieu of flowers. An additional service will be held in her honor in Rockport, Texas. Please contact the family for additional information if needed. She touched the lives of many through her selfless acts of kindness and genuine care for all of her friends and their families. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
