Carlton Burns, affectionately known as Bubba, passed away on June 10, 2024, at the age of 88. He was born on February 29, 1936, in Augusta, GA, and most recently resided in Pineview, GA.

A proud Army veteran, Carlton dedicated his life to serving his country. However, his true passion in life was spending time with his children. Carlton cherished the moments he shared with his eldest daughter, Dorothy, especially when they went fishing together. He also had a heavenly voice and loved singing praises to the Lord.

Known for his strong work ethic, Carlton lived by the motto, "If a man doesn't work, he doesn't eat." He was proud of his career achievements and valued hard work and perseverance. Carlton's proudest accomplishment was raising his children to strive for greatness and to never stop reaching for the stars.

Carlton was married to Susie Mae Burns, and together they built a beautiful life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and a large family. Carlton is survived by his five children: Carlton Burns Jr, Dean Burns, Dorothy Burns, Lance Thornton, and Geraldine Burns. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life: Lorenzo Hunt Jr, Tori Cutler, Shonda Cutler, Joe Cutler, Adrian Cutler, and Destini Cutler.

In addition to his dedication to his family, Carlton was always eager to lend a helping hand and was actively involved in charity work within his community and neighboring areas.

Carlton Burns will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kind heart, strong work ethic, and love for his family will forever be cherished. May he rest in eternal peace.
