Carl R. (Doc) Ellis, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 31, 2024, at the age of 92. He was born on July 17, 1932, in Covington, Ohio, and most recently resided in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee.
Doc, as he was affectionately known, had a zest for life and enjoyed pursuing his favorite hobbies of fishing and golfing. He was also an excellent cook and took great pleasure in experimenting with different dishes. Doc's love for his family was unparalleled, and he treasured every moment spent with his wife, Sharon, and their children.
In addition to his dedication to his family, Doc served as the commanding officer at the Covington, Ohio Army Reserve for several years. His commitment to his country was evident in his role and his love for the Army.
Professionally, Doc excelled as a Master Chemical Sales Representative, leaving a lasting impact on his career. He took great pride in his achievements and cherished his years in the Army.
Doc is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Ellis, whom he married on June 15, 1996. He also leaves behind his five sons, Gregory (Donna), Joseph, Carl (Dixie), Brian (Lori), and Tom, as well as his step-children, Keith (wife) and Kelly Svienty (husband). Doc will also be deeply missed by his numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Doc was the last surviving member of his parents and siblings. His warm and humorous personality endeared him to all who knew him. He had a genuine love for life and a deep sense of patriotism, always willing to defend his country.
Doc was an active member of the Masons, valuing the principles and camaraderie of the organization. He also dedicated his time to community organizations, including volunteer work in Fairfield Glade and Crossville, Tennessee, and at the Cumberland County Playhouse performing arts theatre.
Doc's spiritual journey led him to embrace the Catholic faith, thanks to the influence of his wife, Sharon.
Friends and family will remember Doc as a caring, funny, and patriotic man who brought joy and laughter to those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
