Cambrie Imani Gibson, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on March 11, 2024, at the age of 21. She was born on June 21, 2002, in Mesa, AZ, and most recently resided in Stansbury Park, UT.
Cambrie had a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures. She enjoyed hiking, drawing, and spending quality time with friends, often indulging in Netflix marathons. Watermelon was her favorite treat, and she had a passion for playing various musical instruments, including the ocarina, clarinet, and harmonica.
Nothing brought Cambrie more happiness than being with her loved ones, especially her family and her two beloved dogs, Milo and Harvey. She found solace and serenity in nature, cherishing moments surrounded by trees. Cambrie had a deep love for the TV shows Breaking Bad and Attack on Titan and was an avid volleyball player.
Cambrie's compassionate nature led her to pursue a profession as a day care teacher for two-year-olds. She attended Stansbury High School before furthering her education at Snow College. Her ultimate aspiration was to enter the field of social work, driven by a desire to make a positive impact on others' lives.
Cambrie's parents, Benjamin James Gibson and Cheryl Moana Marie Call Gibson, and her siblings Brayden, Addison, and Chase Gibson, survive her. She was a pillar of support and guidance for her siblings, always willing to lend a helping hand. Cambrie's patient, hardworking, and kind nature endeared her to those around her.
One anecdote that captures Cambrie's essence was her determination to cultivate unique hobbies. At the age of 12, she taught herself to play the ocarina, seeking to showcase her talents. During this time, she also began collecting marimo algae balls and teacups, reflecting her appreciation for the beauty in life's small wonders.
Cambrie's impact extended beyond her immediate family. She served a Spanish-speaking mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Jersey from September 2021 to March 2023. During this time, she encountered individuals who aided her spiritual and emotional growth.
Cambrie's absence leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will forever be cherished. As Iroh once said, "In the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. That's the meaning of inner strength." Cambrie's inner strength and unwavering positivity will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
