He had a wonderful collection of sawdust. :-) He could always be found reading, studying, writing about, or ruminating on the Bible. He loved creating Christmas decorations. If he wasn't immersed in the Bible, you could find him in the garage making some very thoughtful gift(s) for his wife, kids, grands, or greatgrands. He loved studying. And writing. He loved woodworking and creating things with his own two hands
Steak. Or Shrimp Diablo
Favorite bands and musical artists? I would have to say that our father absolutely LOVED hearing our mother play the piano and sing. I think she very well may have been his favorite.
He was "Super Dad". Whether it was nursing us through sick days, imparting wisdom, praying over us, grilling delicious meat, creating some wondrous, beautiful, sparkly, tinkly, shiny, colorful, crackling, handmade, nostalgic, fun, exciting, joyous, Christmas-y thing, being husband, father, Dad, Papa, Pops, Poppy-doodle, Mac, Uncle. Dad delighted in us. All of us. He could often be found with a little one perched on his belly and sharing with poppy. Then he'd "holler" about the grossness left behind on his spoon. He loved it. So did we.
Seeing his clan succeed. He was the patriarch of a very large one. If he wasn't enjoying us from the dinner table, he enjoyed us from 'his' seat in the family room. And we all knew that if we happened to be sitting in 'his' seat, when he headed your way, you were gonna be trying to lay claim to the next best spot. Or an empty one, for that matter. We really multiplied.
Home is where the heart is so, wherever Mom was. But really both parents were all about family. Dad loved having his brood gathered. He presided over these gatherings from his seat at the dinner table. His daughter's, grandkids, and great grandkids, doing his bidding. Usually this meant fetching whatever little thing he forgot to get before he sat down, or an item he needed a refill on. When his clan were gathered, there was no shortage of candidates.
He did enjoy a good western or war movie. Back when televisions were still manually controlled and operated, he relished the fact that he had 6 kids with which to be his, remotely controlled from his recliner, 'picture fixers'. Or rabbit ears.
Football. Thanksgiving's around our house always meant the game would be watched. He loved Sunday night football. His girls did not.

Something many who knew him did NOT know is that he was bequeathed the title of Lord by Queen Elizabeth II. The correct way to address him would have been: Lord C. W. McCulloch. Address them. Lord & Lady McCulloch
Our Daddy was such a grand man, full of love, joy and wise understanding. It is difficult to put into words all the emotions, love, memories, guidance and life of a man who meant so much to so many. In our humble and seemingly inadequate attempts to sum him up, it would have to be this: he was above all a "Man of God" and all that that invokes. He was mercy, grace, peace, comfort and love. He was a provider. He was our protector. He always kept an upbeat and positive attitude and had a funny quip, joke, or anecdote at the ready.
Lord Calvin Wilson McCulloch, affectionately known as Mac, was born on July 13, 1936, in Huntsville, TX. He peacefully passed away on January 14, 2024, at the age of 87, in Houston, TX, surrounded by his loving family.
Mac had a zest for life and enjoyed indulging in his favorite hobbies. He had a remarkable collection of sawdust and took great pleasure in reading, studying, writing about, and reflecting on the Bible. His creative spirit shone through his skill in crafting beautiful Christmas decorations. When he wasn't immersed in a book, Mac could be found in his garage meticulously creating thoughtful gifts for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was so gentle with all his girls while still remaining as strong as stone. He is the roots of our family tree, the head of our family, and the example of what a husband and father should be. Giving us our safety net and the relief in knowing that if we failed, he would lift us up. Dad truly loved hearing mom play the piano and sing in her beautiful soothing voice. It was a balm to the entire household. And he always made sure, she had her piano. He was poetic, charming, funny and had a way with words, both in composition, as was evidenced in his poems and stories, and in relating them, he could hold your attention raptly while he very descriptively, set the stage in your mind, to relate a story. A great storyteller. He dreamed in technicolor.
Mac's proudest role was being a "Super Dad." He cherished the moments spent with his children and grandchildren, always providing support and encouragement for their success. Home was his favorite place in the world, as it was wherever his beloved wife, Dody, was.
In his spare time, Mac enjoyed watching a wide range of interesting TV shows. He was an avid football fan, always rooting for his favorite team.
He loved God, family, country and Scotland. Mac served both God and Country throughout his life, leaving a lasting impact on those around him. He was a man of faith, who often said, "I love you, let's pray about it" These words reflected his unwavering belief in the power of prayer.
Mac's proudest accomplishment was witnessing his clan overcome challenges and achieve great things. He is survived by his loving wife, Lady Dora Dee McCulloch, daughter Kelly Ann McCulloch, son Michael Scott McCulloch, daughter's Kimberly Reneé Amalfi, Kerri Lynn Greiner, Jacquelyn Marie McCulloch, Jerilyn Sue McCulloch-Austin, and son-in-law Kevin Edward Austin. His memory will forever live on in their hearts.
Lord Calvin Wilson McCulloch, or Mac, will be remembered for his love, devotion, and unmatched dedication to his family. May he rest in eternal peace.
