Calvin Richard Jones Jr., lovingly known as Cal Jr., Mr. Calvin, or "The President," passed away on June 20, 2024, at the age of 86. He was born on February 5, 1938, in Charlotte, NC, and had been residing in Pineville, NC, at the time of his passing.

Calvin was a unique individual with a zest for life. He had many interesting quirks, such as never having a slice of pizza or shrimp. His favorite place in the world was in the street, particularly in North Charlotte. Calvin was known for his sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He was an unofficial, unpaid comedian who always had a joke ready to brighten anyone's day.

Although Calvin initially disliked cell phones, he eventually started to appreciate them. He was a man of simple pleasures and could often be found with a Pepsi in hand, relaxing on the back of his truck. He cherished these moments and shared his humor and joy with those around him.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Harold, his daughter Sheryl Jones, and son Kevin "Tanka" Jones. He is survived by his siblings Leonard (Donna), David Wayne, Michael (Karen), Doris, DeeDee, Frances Ann, Cynthia (Lawson), and a host of nieces and nephews.

Calvin Richard Jones Jr. will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his love for life, and his ability to bring smiles to the faces of others. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
