Obituary

Calvin Reginald Reavis Jr., lovingly known as Reggie, was born on January 8, 1955, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He peacefully passed away on June 3, 2024, in Hazlet, New Jersey, surrounded by his beloved family.

Reggie had an adventurous spirit that was fueled by his many passions. He was an exceptional gourmet cook and enjoyed experimenting with various flavors and cuisines. When he wasn't in the kitchen, Reggie could be found cheering on his favorite teams, the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. He also had a knack for building custom computers, riding his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle, and restoring classic cars. Traveling and restoring old homes were additional hobbies that brought him great joy.

Reggie had an insatiable appetite for diverse cuisines, and his favorite foods ranged from Mexican and Indian to Italian, Chinese, and Caribbean delicacies. But above all, Reggie's greatest joy came from inspiring those he loved to be the best they could be.

Professionally, Reggie achieved great success as a Sales Manager at Merck and later as a business owner/entrepreneur of Reavis Computer Solutions, LLC. His dedication and hard work were evident in every endeavor he undertook, and he was highly respected by his colleagues.

Reggie was married to the love of his life, Deborah Rochelle Reavis, until her passing in 2010. Together, they created a beautiful family and were blessed with two children: Christopher Reavis and Adrianna Reavis Perez. Reggie's love and devotion to his children were unmatched, and he took pride in watching them grow into remarkable individuals.

Reggie is survived by his siblings, Daniel Robert Reavis of Hazlet, N.J. and Valeria Rose Reavis of Charlotte, N.C. as well as a niece Cynthia Reavis of Linden, N.J. and nephews Mason Reavis of Princeton, N.J. and Raymond Matthew Polk of Chapel Hill, N.C., a son- in-law, Domingo Roberto Perez, as well as a host of cousins and close friends. Their bond as a family was unbreakable, and their support for one another was unwavering. His parents, Calvin C. Reavis and Rose Zella Reavis, preceeded him in death but their values played a strong role in Reggie's life.

In addition to his professional achievements and family life, Reggie was actively involved in his community. He volunteered his time and skills to Habitat for Humanity, helping those in need and making a positive impact on the lives of others. His dedication to his community earned him recognition as one of the top 10 small business owners in Hazlet, New Jersey.

Reggie will be remembered for his perseverance, strength through adversity, and his unwavering determination. He had lifelong friends whom he cherished since childhood and who will always hold him close in their hearts.

Calvin Reginald Reavis Jr., with his vibrant and kind-hearted spirit, leaves behind a legacy of love, inspiration, and a passion for life. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
