It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Caleb Ryan Kumagai - beloved son, cousin, friend, and photographer.
Caleb passed away on September 17th, 2025 in Anaheim, CA of cardiac failure. He was a loving, intelligent, generous, compassionate, hard-working human being who was guided by his faith. He had a passion for technology, video games, music, photography and video.
Born to Alan and Kimberly Kumagai, Caleb grew up in Big Bear Lake, CA where he attended Big Bear High School and graduated in 2004.
He attended the University of California, Riverside, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Technology Administration in 2017 and graduated with honors. Though his studies prepared him for the world of business tech, Caleb found his true calling working with his hands. He built a career as a skilled fabricator and welder in the aircraft industry, where his precision and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues.
Caleb was known not only for his craftsmanship but also for his adventurous spirit and boundless kindness. Born in Big Bear Lake, he cherished the mountains, where he spent countless weekends hiking, snowboarding, and fishing. Friends remember him as someone who could light up a room with his humor and generosity, always ready to lend a hand in times of need.
In addition to his parents, Caleb leaves behind a wide circle of friends, coworkers, and extended family who loved him deeply. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact of his life will be felt for years to come.
Outside of his career, Caleb was a passionate gamer and DJ in online communities, where he connected with friends across the world who quickly became like family. He also loved photography and videography, always finding ways to capture special moments and the beauty around him. Whether he was behind a camera, at his computer, or out in nature, Caleb poured his heart into what he loved.
Today, while his absence leaves a deep ache in the hearts of his loved ones, there is comfort in knowing that Caleb is now with Jesus—at peace, embraced by eternal love, and reunited with his Heavenly Father. His faith and the way he lived with compassion and joy reflect the light of that promise.
Caleb will be remembered as a devoted son, a loyal friend, and a soul who lived with passion and authenticity. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."
A celebration of Caleb’s life will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church 566 S Glassell St, Orange, CA 92866 on Saturday, October 4th, 2025 at 11:00am.
