Byron James Muck, affectionately known as BJ, was born on June 2, 1950, in Everett, Washington. He passed away on October 19, 2024, in Marysville, Washington, where he had made his home in recent years. Byron dedicated 40 years of his life to Boeing, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
A devoted family man, Byron is survived by his beloved wife, Kim, with whom he shared 37 years of laughter and love. He leaves behind his children, Heather Shelby and her partner Leslie Vogel, Timothy Muck, and Linda Code-Muck, Adam and Lexie Shelby, and Christopher and Cindy Cox. His legacy continues with his grandchildren: Christian MacMinn, Skylar MacMinn, Adrianna Bigbee, Justyn Code-Muck, Brandon Cox, Cameron Code-Muck, Angel Shelby, and Sofie Shelby, as well as several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Elenore.
Byron was known for his quick wit, generous spirit, and the best hugs. He had a passion for piano music, often losing himself in the melodies of his favorite artists, including Joe Bongiorno, Pink Floyd, and The Eagles. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Jeff's BBQ and enjoyed peanut butter cookies and seafood. Byron was also an active member of his community, volunteering for the Neighborhood Watch and leaving a lasting impression on the local police force.
As a proud sports fan, Byron cheered for the Mariners and attended every game his grandchildren played. He was always the biggest fan in the stands. His favorite place in the world was Yachats, Oregon, where he found peace and joy.
Byron’s family will remember him for his dad jokes, his love for music, and his unwavering support. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
