Bruce Richard Machurek, affectionately known as "Mac," passed away on September 1, 2024, in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born on May 12, 1938, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
A proud veteran, Bruce joined the Navy at the age of 17 and served for 20 years, exemplifying a deep commitment to his country. After his military career, he moved to Pocatello in 1991, worked for ICCU and ISUCU.
Bruce cherished his time spent fishing and camping in the lakes, rivers and mountains of Idaho. He loved engaging in online fighter pilot games. He was known for his fondness for steamed clams, artichokes, and his late wife, Rose, liver and onions. Lake Martinez in Yuma, Arizona, held a special place in his heart.
Above all, Bruce loved his family. He enjoyed working on cars with his son Jim and passionately supported his son Mike during football games. He was a season ticket holder for ISU football games.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Rose (2006), son Bob (2006) girlfriend Dorothy Murphy, with whom he shared many wonderful years from 2008 until 2023.
He is survived by his siblings, Bev (Ron) Luce, Linda (Ed) Walker, Diane Hale. His children, Mike, Jim, Julie (Mark Gauthier). Grandchildren, Candace (Justin Rose), Madison Machurek, Justin (Lindsey) Walls, Matthew (Dylana), Chris Machurek and five great grand children.
Bruce’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, dedication to family, and unwavering love for his country.
