Brenda Irene Cynthia James Brown Glenn Copeland, known to her loved ones as "BIG," passed away on May 9, 2024, at the age of 74. She was born on April 29, 1950, in Washington, D.C., and most recently resided in Maryland.
Brenda had a zest for life and was known for her outgoing and free-spirited nature. She had a passion for dancing and enjoyed all types of music. Brenda's favorite pastime was spending quality time with her friends and family, whom she cherished dearly. She had a particular fondness for cruises, considering them her favorite place in the world.
In her leisure time, Brenda could be found engrossed in General Hospital, one of her favorite TV shows. She also had a love for football and basketball. Brenda's vibrant personality and sarcasm brought joy to those around her. She was known for her wonderful advice and quick wit.
Brenda had a successful career as a paralegal, working for prestigious organizations such as the Department of Interior and the Department of Justice. She later became a realtor before retiring. Brenda graduated from Dunbar High School, and she furthered her education at Ohio State University.
Brenda was predeceased by her parents, Minnie James and Howard Moxley. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Wimbish. Brenda had a deep love for her children, Anita Brown and Barbara Brown, both of whom preceded her in death, as well as her son Gerone Brown and granddaughter Rinita Brown.
In addition to her personal pursuits, Brenda was an active member of Narcotics Anonymous, where she made a positive impact on the lives of others.
Brenda Irene Cynthia James Brown Glenn Copeland's infectious spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in Brenda's honor.
A private memorial service will be held for close friends and family to celebrate Brenda's life and legacy.
