It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Gentry-Shoemake, who left this world peacefully on November 15, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on October 25, 1951, Brenda lived a life filled with love, dedication, and warmth, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Brenda was more than just a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she was a cornerstone of her family and a beacon of strength and compassion. She is preceded in death by her beloved family members Latessa Shoemake-Barr, Johnny Shoemake Jr., and Tina Shoemake-Diggs, who welcomed her with open arms into the afterlife. Brenda’s legacy of love and resilience will continue through her surviving family.

She leaves behind three devoted children, who carry forward her spirit and teachings. Brenda's legacy also includes five adoring grandchildren and six cherished great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into nurturing and supporting them throughout her life.

Brenda was known for her kindness, her unwavering support, and her ability to bring people together. Her laughter was infectious, and her smile could light up the darkest days. She was a confidante, a friend, and a guiding light, always ready with wise words or a comforting embrace.

As we remember Brenda Gentry-Shoemake, we celebrate the life she lived and the love she shared. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and friends. Brenda's spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched, and her legacy of love will resonate for generations to come.

In honor of Brenda’s life, a celebration of her spirit will be held by her family. As we come together to mourn her loss, we will also share stories of joy, love, and laughter that Brenda so abundantly gave to us all. She will be dearly missed, but her love and lessons will remain with us always.
