Obituary

Betty Lorraine Freeman, affectionately known as Betty Boop, passed away on December 10, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on April 25, 1952, in Alameda County, California, she spent her final years in Corona, California, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was a devoted caregiver and hospice aide, a career that reflected her warm and empathetic nature. Her greatest pride was her four children, whom she cherished deeply and raised with love and care. Betty’s heart was a welcoming space, and she was known for her friendly demeanor, never meeting a stranger.

An enthusiastic music lover, Betty had a special fondness for Tina Turner, with whom she once had the incredible experience of dancing backup during a performance in Oakland. She enjoyed listening to music while spending time outdoors, particularly fishing, though she developed an allergy to shellfish that curtailed her love for seafood.

Her favorite moments were spent outside in the warmth, delighting in the company of her grandkids. Betty was also a fan of baseball, showing unwavering support for the A’s despite their departure from her hometown. In her downtime, she could often be found enjoying programs on the Lifetime channel or watching heartwarming movies.

Betty's spirit and love for life will be profoundly missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and the simple motto, "Use your words!" as a guiding principle for her family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held to honor the light she brought into the world.
