Berta Gort, affectionately known as Mima B, was born on March 15, 1945, in Havana, Cuba, and passed away on September 4, 2024, in Orlando, Florida. Berta was a devoted housewife and mother who dedicated her life to her family, particularly cherishing her role as a grandmother. She loved nothing more than having her grandchildren—Danay Gort, Alexia Gort, Ivan Guterra, Silvinia Rosario, and Jackson Rosario—by her side, creating cherished memories through cooking and hosting family gatherings.
Berta's contributions extended beyond her home; she was a passionate advocate for women's rights in Havana, Cuba. As one of Havana, Cuba's freedom fighters, she played a pivotal role in rallying for change, leading events that significantly advanced women's rights in her community. Her motto, "Nothing comes easy. If it seems too easy, it's not real," reflected her determination and resilience.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Alfonso Gort, a son, Renardo Gort, and two daughters, Silva Rosario and Elvina Guterra. Berta's spirit and legacy of love, strength, and activism will be remembered by all who knew her.
