Served as a media spokesman for Mary Sue Terry and communications strategist for Jacksonville Mayor Ed Austin
Worked in various communications posts, including with the Democratic Party of Virginia and as communications director for U.S. Sen. Charles (Chuck) Robb's re-election campaign
Lived in Coles Point, VA, and Warrenton, VA, and is survived by his daughters, son, grandson, and former wives
