Bert Anthony Valdez, born on July 10, 1951, in Los Angeles, California, passed away on October 2, 2024, in Buena Park, California. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Valdez, his daughter Jennifer Kurth, his son Victor Valdez, and five cherished grandchildren: Clarissa, Kaitlyn, Kassandra, Kai, and Ava.
Bert was known for his unwavering positive attitude and deep love for his family. He cherished camping trips and fishing outings, where he often regaled his family with tales of "Walter," the mythical biggest Rainbow trout in the lakes. Bert's passion for music shone through his years as a musician; he played guitar, saxophone, and drums in a rock band, with his wife Betty as his greatest supporter and devoted fan club president.
He was a devoted sports fan, particularly of Raider Football and Lakers Basketball, and he loved sharing his favorite foods, such as Ciro's Pizza and his wife's lasagna, with family and friends. Bert graduated from Cerritos College with an Associate's degree and earned a Bachelor's in Computer Science from Cal State Fullerton, where he laid the foundation for a successful career.
Bert's love for his family extended to coaching his son's basketball team and serving as an altar boy at St. John of God, reflecting his Catholic faith and community spirit. He enjoyed watching classic TV shows and had a unique sense of humor, often sharing his life motto, "Life could be a dream," and playful quips about his good looks.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests comfort food via DoorDash or Uber Eats gift cards, honoring Bert's love for sharing meals with those he cared about. He will be deeply missed and remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who made a lasting impact on the lives of those around him.
We'll plant real trees for you in Bert's memory and display your contribution forever.
