Miller Rogers III was born in Milledgeville Ga on December 27,1954 to the late parentage of the late Miller Rogers, SR and the late Genie Hood Rogers of Baldwin County.  He attended High School in Baldwin County and would later graduate from Cornerstone Christian Correspondence School.  He begins his career in Fire Services in 1979 being employed with the City of Milledgeville Fire Department/Rescue and Central State Hospital.  In 1984 he received a diploma as an Apparatus Engineer, 1991 he was promoted as Lieutenant, 1992 Basic Fire fighter, 1993 Fire Officer, 1994 Certified Firefighter State of Ga, Crash Victim Extracation and Tank Truck Emergencies.  He completed numerous trainings and certifications from Ga Fire Academy, The National Fire Academy (FEMA), Office of Homeland Security, Ga Emergency Management Agency and Institute, US Department of Transportation. During his career he received numerous awards as an Employee of the Quarter, Faithful Service Awards for his length of Service.

In 1995, He met the future love of his life Mertanyas Head (Tammi) and later married in 1997. Miller loved the Lord, his family and a guy that wore many hats. He was the joy of laughter and a joker, loved cooking, country music, tax preparations and a stickler for maintaining a well-manicured yard.

In 2016, a career with the Baldwin County Firefighter Rescue expanded over 25 years ending in Retirement.  He served as member of the Georgia Fireman’s Pension Fund, Ga Police and Fire Olympics.

In 2019, His career with the City of Milledgeville for 40 years and retired as the Battalion Fire Chief.

Miller Rogers III, leaves to cherish all his fun and special memories a loving, doting and faithful wife (Mertanyas(Tammi), Mary Rogers, William Edward Jr, James Edward SR, Julian Edwards, Tashodra Rogers, Qwutaria Rogers, Jajuan Rogers and his little buddy (Gunnar) and his best friend Foster Hurt.
