Reading was always her favorite hobby. She did produce water color artwork for several years.
Authentic, traditional German and Austrian foods were not just her favorites; she prepared them for family and guests as well.
Graduated from Immaculata High School, Chicago. Received her Registered Nurse Certification from Evanston Hospital School of Nursing/Northwestern University. She was well known in the community, because she worked for more than 20 years part-time as an ambassador for Welcome Wagon International, Crown Point IN, welcoming hundreds of new resident families into the Crown Point community. She also did community volunteer work for both the Tri Kappa sorority and the Crown Point YMCA.
Barbara loved to travel on both family vacations and later with husband Jack, often to European locations.
Barbara learned to snow ski in the Austrian Alps from family members when she was just 4 years old. Her favorite sports team growing up was the Chicago Cubs. Later, she cheered for whatever teams sons John and Michael played for.
We'll plant real trees for you in Barbara's memory and display your contribution forever.
