Barbara Ann Vandecar, born on June 7, 1960, in Sacramento, California, passed away on August 16, 2024, in Gold River, California. A dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Barbara, affectionately known as "Nana," cherished her time spent with family, particularly her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Barbara graduated from Mira Loma high school a year early, showcasing her industrious and determined spirit. She enjoyed a successful career as a Senior Student Loan Representative, where she was known for her knowledge and dependability. Barbara was also known for her hard work and loyalty, traits that endeared her to many.
In her personal life, Barbara loved to travel, hit up a casino, play bingo, and enjoy good food. Mashedpotatoes and apple turnovers being her current favorites. She had a special fondness for Disneyland, often considering it her favorite place in the world. She was so proud of the fact she took all her grandkids to Disneyland in 2023. Barbara had a great sense of humor and was known for her sarcastic wit, making those around her feel at ease and entertained.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Edward Vandecar. Her parents Robert and Rose Richardson. Her Brothers Rorbert D Richardson and Gene Richardson. Sisters Rhonda Ann Richardson and Roberta Horton. She is survived by her daughters Amanda and Natasha, son-in-law Tyrone, and her beloved grandchildren: Sedric, Christopher, Ryleigh, Ava, Aniya, Jordan, and Kalessia. Great grandson Xavier.
Barbara was a mother to many, often opening her heart and home to those in need. Her ability to connect with others and create lasting relationships made a significant impact on the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever remember her kindness, humor, and unwavering support.
