Atlene was born on 1944 in Hearne Texas to the late Lloyd Stevenson and Olivia Pope Stevenson. She was the joy of Lloyd and Olivia life because he was their third girl and fourth and final child

Atlene graduated from Hearne Colored High School in Hearne, Texas. She love to cook and clean as a young girl. Atlene joined New Magnolia Baptist Church in Hearne, TX and sang in the choir.

After she graduated from high school, she moved to Wichita Falls, TX. She united with Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of Revered R. L. Castle. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and served until failing health. She met and married Michael Maddox . They had three precious kids, Kenneth Stevenson(son), Michael Maddox jr (son) and Shunda Maddox/Wagner (daughter). Atlene worked as a house maid. She also worked from home making home goods for friends. She was fortunate enough to have 3 wonderful grandchildren. Shaquavia Wagner, and Latoya Stevenson;Granddaughters. Kevin Wagner. ;Grandson.

Sons, Kenneth Stevenson, Michael Maddox jr ;and Daughter, Shunda Maddox (Wagner). Grandkids: Shaquavia Wagner, Latoya Stevenson, and Kevin wagner. Sisters: Willie Mae (Rev. R. L. Hunter): Sylvia Dennis of Wichita Falls, TX and Patricia (Claude Terry) of Dallas, Texas. Brothers: Reverend Floyd Stevenson (Betty); Ray Stevenson (Tassy); H. S. Stevenson (Patricia) of Wichita Falls, Texas. She also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
