He was born on October 15, 1966, in the Bronx, NY, to proud parents who cherished him dearly Arthur L Burton 2nd and Mae Nita Murray who are deceased.
Arthur was a man of diverse talents and interests. He found joy in writing screenplays and playing video games, often immersing himself in these hobbies during his free time. His love for fried chicken and chicken and rice was unparalleled, and he took great pleasure in indulging in these delicious dishes. Arthur had an eclectic taste in music, with favorite bands and artists such as U2, Teena Marie, Fleetwood Mac, and Coldplay resonating deeply with him.
Throughout his life, Arthur held various roles that showcased his dedication and commitment to helping others. He served as an Auxiliary police officer, EMT in New York City, Fugitive Recovery Agent, and Security agent for Hampton University. Arthur's proudest accomplishments included obtaining a Bachelor's in Business Administration, a Master's in Education in Early Childhood, and a Ph.D. He was known by many names, including Artie, Jay, and Jayman, reflecting the deep connection he had with his loved ones.
Arthur was a devoted husband, married to Tracey L Burton for 36 years, and they shared a beautiful life together. Their children, Natalie Willie' Scott, Arthur L Burton 4, Daughter in law Liz, Justina M Burton, and Freddie L Burton, and son~law Curtis Hill. He brought immense joy to their lives. Arthur's grandchildren, Destiny Joy, ZOE, Arielle, Amari, Haile, Zarah, Megan, and Noah, were the light of his world.
He is survived by his wife Tracey L Burton, his children Natalie of Highpoint, NC; Arthur, Daughter-in-law Liz, of Bronx, NY; Justina, and son-in-law Curtis of Hampton, VA; Freddie of Tampa, Florida, and his grandchildren Arielle, Destiny, Amari, Zoe, Haile, Zarah, Megan, Noah, and a great-grandchild on the way. Three sisters, Diedre Burton, Maya, and Serena, and one brother, Kyle, all from New York City, and an host of Aunts, Uncles, niece, nephew, Cousins, In-laws, and friends. Arthur will be remembered for his easy-going nature, friendly demeanor, and unwavering work ethic. He always made himself available to lend a helping hand or offer guidance to those in need.
Arthur's impact extended beyond his immediate circle, as he actively participated in an Action Network in New York, assisting community members in finding employment and helping with various needs. As a Supervisor, he provided invaluable guidance and support to those around him.
Throughout his journey, Arthur's faith evolved from Lutheran to Baptist, providing him with strength and solace in times of need.
Arthur L Burton will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of compassion, dedication, and love will forever be cherished in our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace.
