Obituary

Arthur Garcia, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on February 11, 2024, at the age of 77. He was born on July 6, 1946, in Silver City, New Mexico. Arthur's most recent residence was in Richland, Washington.

Throughout his life, Arthur had a zest for adventure and enjoyed his favorite hobbies of golf and traveling. He especially cherished going on cruises, which allowed him to explore new places and create lasting memories.

Above all, Arthur's true passion was his family. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his loved ones and creating meaningful connections with them.

Professionally, Arthur had an illustrious career. He worked at Westmoreland from 1978 until its closure in 1985, serving as the Underground Superintendent in Paonia. Following this, he became the mine manager at Energy Fuels Coal in Florence, Colorado, from 1985 to 1990. In 1990, Arthur relocated to Grand Junction, where he worked for Waste Management until 1994. He then began his tenure at the Hanford site in Richland, where he dedicated his skills until his well-deserved retirement.

Arthur's proudest accomplishments were his family and his dedication to his peers and career. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering commitment.

Arthur is survived by his wife Sarita Garcia, his four daughters Christa, Kelly, Lori, and Echo, his sons Kevin, James, Devin and Naveen, along with 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Irene Delano, who held a special place in his heart.

Arthur will be remembered for his warm heart, his friendly nature, and his love for the University of Arizona, the Denver Broncos, and golf. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
