Ariana passed away due to complications to her medical condition. Ariana will be dearly missed by her adoring mother, Awilda Ayala and loving stepfather Mark Cohen, her loving sister Rosalia Ayala, loving brothers Luis Ayala, Michael Petroff (loving sister-in-law Yokaira) and stepsister Amanda (Kevin) Brown, and stepbrother Gregory Cohen, her beloved nieces and nephews, many aunts and uncles and countless cousins, along with so many friends considered extended family. She was preceeded in death by her maternal grandparents Faustina and Jose Ayala, Grandma Esther Cohen, uncles Jose, Alfonse, aunt Flora and cousins Rene Larralde, Emmanuel, Emmanuel and Zayla Ayala. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Muscular Dystrophy Association or Make A Wish Foundation in Ariana's memory.
Ariana attended Homewood Elementary School, Whittier Middle School and graduated from Southview High School in 2005. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from State University of New York, Empire State College graduating class of 2018.
Ariana was a member of Whittier's band and orchestra and Southview's band, orchestra and marching band. Ariana was a Pepsi connoisseur and knew how to pair her favorite foods, rice, beans, pastelillos or pasteles, with her Pepsi. Ariana was an avid reader and collector of books. Her all time favorite book was Little Women, of which she collected several copies. She also loved crafting, her latest creations being recycled gift cards into bookmarks. She also enjoyed writing poetry filling pages and pages with her words. She was witty, blunt, no nonsense and funny and the best friend anyone would want.
Ariana's superpower was making those she loved smile. She loved giving gifts and was always thoughtful. Nothing warmed her heart more than making others happy. Ariana had the uncanny ability of finding humor in any circumstance. Her smile and wit are unforgetable and will be missed.
A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Lorain Ohio.
