Spending time with family and her loved ones. At any given opportunity she always wanted as much of the family to get together. This brought her almost as much joy as getting to hold her grand and great-grandchildren.
Newport Pier in California. She loved to sit along the shoreside, walk down the pier even though she would avoid looking into the deep water, and would check out the beach shops and houses wishing she could reside along the beach herself.
Annette Valentine Wendover passed away on April 12, 2024, in Goose Creek, SC, at the age of 64. Annette was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished spending time with her family and loved ones above all else. She had an infectious laughter and a happy disposition that brightened the lives of those around her, hiding the battles she overcame in her life and displaying strength in every step she took. Annette was born on February 14, 1960, in Anaheim, CA. She was raised in Fullerton, CA with her parents Lily and Pete Acosta, who themselves had a total of 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls. Annette spent her first part of life in Fullerton growing up and developing close bonds with family, going to school, developing her love for 80's music, making relationships where she was known as 'Casper', started having a family of her own, and eventually gaining a passion for Nursing where she started schooling and working in the industry. In 1998, Annette's path brought her to Kingman, AZ where she lived most of the rest of her life, making a home in a new area. In Kingman, she continued to pursue her interest in the Nursing field and worked as a devoted CNA until around (year) when she started to experience the early stages of renal disease. During this time she met her late husband, Donald Wendover, who she would settle down with and get a home together. Over the years Annette would experience more of her condition, and as only those close to her would know, she fought numerous battles in her journey but she continued forward. Annette is remembered for her strength as she always kept her will and personality no matter what came her way and always looked forward to the future ahead with a beautiful smile. In (year), she started dialysis she would attend 3 days a week, which became a routine in her life. Surgeries were also a normality for her, both routine and unplanned. As she pushed forward and her condition progressed, a situation arose that claimed her () leg in (year). For most, this would be their tipping point, but Annette was determined to push forward with a new goal of getting physically strong enough for a kidney transplant. She received a prosthetic that she needed to learn to use first, almost relearning how to walk again, at which point she moved to California to receive the aid of her loved family and get the proper health care she needed for her goal. After showing her strength to push past this hurdle, she progressed in her health, learned to walk around on her own more confidently, and in (year) officially earned her spot on the National Donation Transplant List. This accomplishment led her to move to Goose Creek, SC with her daughter, where she continued her work on her health and strength for the moment the transplant was ready. Annette touched the hearts of everyone she encountered, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. She had a deep faith in Christianity and was an active member of her church. Annette volunteered whenever she could, demonstrating her commitment to helping others. In memory of Annette, her friends and family will forever hold her close in their hearts and remember her motto, "Annette Strong." May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
