Attended St. Mary's Star of the Sea school and Our Lady of the Wisdom Academy in Ozone Park. Graduated from St. Johns Hospital School of Nursing in Long Island City and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from New York University.
Worked as a staff nurse in the delivery room at St. Joseph's Hospital in Far Rockaway and the Medical and Surgical services department at South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside. Joined the faculty of the Oceanside Public Schools as a school nurse - teacher in 1950 and retired in that position from the Rockville Center Public Schools.
After retirement, volunteered at South Nassau Hospital.
Active member of St. Anthony's Parish. Taught CCD, was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, and a Eucharist Minister.
Married Tony, who passed away in December 2009 after a brief illness.
Enjoyed many years of retirement in good health. Spent 25 years wintering in Florida but always looked forward to returning to their home in Oceanside.
Moved to Annapolis, MD in 2013 and became a resident of Ginger Cove.
Visitation at Macken Mortuary, Island Park, NY on Feb. 8, from 4pm-8pm. Mass at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Oceanside, NY on Feb. 9, at 9:45am. Burial at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY, immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation or Ginger Cove Foundation.
