Ann Marie Primeau, born on December 10, 1944, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, in Burlington, Ontario. She was the beloved wife of Jean-Claude Primeau for nearly 55 years and cherished mother to Larissa (Will), Renée (John), Phil (Emma), and Marc (Cimm). Ann Marie was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and three grand-dogs, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
A dedicated caregiver, Ann Marie had a successful career as a Registered Nurse before returning to school to become a bereavement counselor. She ran the Burlington Bereavement Centre and concluded her career with the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON). Her compassion for others was unmatched, and she was known for always putting the needs of her family and patients before her own.
Ann Marie was a woman of many talents and interests. She loved sewing, gardening, baking, and reading, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with delicious meals, including her favorite roast chicken and mashed potatoes. Her baking was legendary among family and friends, and her Halloween costume designs were nothing short of epic.
She was incredibly intelligent, possessing a deep understanding of world events, literature, and theology, yet she could blend her serious side with a delightful sense of humor. Her dry wit often had her family in stitches, and her ability to engage in thoughtful conversations made her a cherished companion.
Ann Marie had a passion for animals and true crime and was an avid supporter of the Toronto Blue Jays. She found comfort in her home, where she made everyone feel welcome, secure, and loved. Her proudest accomplishments included her loving marriage, her four children, and her five grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
She is survived by her brother, Neil Walker (Linda Zaks Walker), and many extended family members who will miss her dearly. Ann Marie's legacy of kindness, humor, and unyielding love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. In the words she often expressed, she leaves behind a profound impact, embodying the spirit of a true caregiver.
