Obituary

Andre Lorenzo Smith, 63, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026. He was born on August 4, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois.

Andre proudly served his country in the United States Army for 25 years. His years of service reflected his dedication, strength, and commitment to those around him. The Army was a major part of his life, and he carried that sense of discipline and loyalty into everything he did.

While Andre was a proud soldier, he was also known for something equally powerful—his sense of humor. He loved to laugh, tell stories, and bring joy to the people around him. Whether sharing memories from his Army days or teasing family members with a joke, Andre had a way of making every gathering brighter.

Andre was a loving father, brother, and grandfather who cherished his family deeply. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Andrea Smith and Sharde Abott; his sisters Denise Abott, Karen Trammel, and Lori Anderson; and his brother Alonzo Smith.

He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Jayleen, Joshua, Tyrin, Lacey, and Jovan, who brought him great pride and happiness.

Andre will be remembered for his strength, his service to his country, and the laughter he shared with everyone who knew him. His legacy of love, humor, and dedication will live on through his family and friends.

Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit, stories, and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
