Obituary

Andre Christopher Williams, age 67, formerly of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on January 31, 2026, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, with his sister, Monique Hoskins, by his side. He was born on December 19, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois.

Andre later made his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he met and married the love of his life, Leola Williams, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage. Their union was a source of strength, love, and devotion throughout his life.

Andre was a man of faith, character, and quiet strength. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and carried that commitment throughout his life, touching others with his gentle spirit and kind heart. He was truly loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Andre proudly served his country in the United States Navy beginning in 1976. Following his military service, he dedicated 18 years of service to the Virginia Public School System, from which he retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and commitment to education.

In his leisure time, Andre found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved watching war movies, with Hogan’s Heroes being his favorite. His most beloved hobby was playing his old-school Motown albums, filling his home with music and cherished memories. He was also an avid chess player who enjoyed both the challenge and strategy of the game.

Andre was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leola Williams; his mother, Rose Page; and his son, Kristopher Miller.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Monique Hoskins and Veronica Munroe-Ball (Derrick); his brothers, Mustofa Mohammed and George Gumbs (Paris); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Andre Christopher Williams will be remembered for his unwavering faith, love of music, gentle spirit, and the warmth he shared with everyone he encountered. His legacy of love and service will live on through all who knew him.
