Amaya Annette Walker, lovingly known as Maya, was born on November 25, 2005, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She peacefully passed away on August 9, 2024, in her hometown of Shreveport.
Maya's vibrant spirit and zest for life were evident in everything she did. Singing and dancing brought her immense joy, but her greatest love was her father, Zachery Walker. They shared a special bond, often cooking together and embarking on fishing adventures at Lake of the Pines. Maya cherished these moments with her dad, who taught her the art of angling.
Her favorite pastimes included indulging in pizza, wings, and ice cream, while listening to the soulful tunes of H.E.R, Chris Brown, and Doja Cat. Maya found solace in watching the TV show Sisters, and her passion for NFL made her a dedicated sports enthusiast.
Maya graduated from Beaumont United High School and was pursuing her education at Prairieview. She believed in the motto, "Is you pickin up what I'm puttin down," which reflected her unique perspective on life.
Maya's infectious laughter, joy, and love for those around her will be deeply missed. She touched the lives of many and will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit and love for her family.
Maya is survived by her father, Zachery Walker, and a host of loving family members and friends. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
Maya's life was a testament to the beauty of living fully and embracing every moment. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
