Amanda’s early years were spent in Merced, where she attended Weaver Elementary and later graduated from Golden Valley High School. Her pursuit of knowledge and justice led her to the San Joaquin School of Law, where she furthered her education with determination and purpose. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Amanda served as a cryptologist. Her time in the military reflected her deep sense of duty and commitment to protecting others—values that continued to guide her throughout her life. Amanda had a profound love for animals and was deeply involved in animal rescue and adoption efforts. Her home was often a sanctuary for animals in need, and she worked tirelessly to ensure they found loving homes. She was also an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and enjoyed playing softball. Music and crafts brought her joy and allowed her to express her creativity. Amanda’s legacy is not just in the work she did but in the lives, she touched with her kindness, her unwavering support for those she loved, and her passion for making the world a better place. Her warmth and generosity left lasting impressions on all who knew her. She is lovingly remembered by her mother and stepfather, Monica and Ray Jackson; her brother, Philip Metz; and her beloved son, George Hage. Amanda was preceded in death by her father Dennis Metz; uncle Dave Metz; grandparents Al and Madeline Metz; and Grandmother Margaret Leavitt. Amanda will be deeply missed but remembered fondly and forever in the hearts of those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
