Obituary
Allison Renee Almond, affectionately known as "Bella Donna,", was born on December 29, 1971, in Maryland and passed away on September 25, 2024, in Roanoke, Virginia, where she resided most recently. A dedicated registered nurse at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Allison was known for her profound ability to change the lives of her patients, especially the children. She often returned home with drawings and artwork from her young patients at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Allison's compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to her patients were hallmarks of her esteemed career.
Allison was a lover of art, poetry, reading, and gardening
Allison is survived by her two beloved grandchildren, Iris Renee Almond and Blaine Jasper Almond, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her son, Taylor Christian Almond, his wife Autumn Simms, and her daughter, Annika Renee Almond, and her husband, Loyalty Alexander. Allison cherished her family deeply, including her parents, Mary Alyce Thompson and Bruce Alan Thompson, as well as her brother, Kevin Thompson.
In addition to her family, Allison shared a special bond with her ex-husband, Rodney Wayne Almond, who remained a lifelong friend and loving father and grandfather. Her lifelong friend, Mr. John Hicks, was a constant source of encouragement and support, helping Allison pursue her dreams encouraging Allison to never give up and to find joy and solace in each of her pursuits
Allison was known for her strong work ethic, independence, and her caring, forgiving nature. She embraced everyone, regardless of gender or race, and maintained a unique artistic spirit. She believed in God and lived by the values that guided her compassionate life.
She is preceded in death by her beloved fur baby, Fraya, who was her pride and joy, and is now reunited with her. Allison also leaves behind her cherished companion, Sophie, who was a constant source of love and comfort.
Allison's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her, especially those she touched through her nursing career and her loving family.
