It is with great sadness that the family of Alice Mae Johnson announce her passing on October 28, 2023, at the age of 76.

Alice was born on March 25, 1947, in Belzoni, Mississippi, to the late Peter and Betty Turner. She was the beloved wife of Willett Scott, and the loving mother of Gathon, Vickie, Linda, Willett Jr., Larry, and Mitchell. She was the proud grandmother of Jessica, Renard, Breanna, Lillian, Rodney, Latoya, Gathon, Anthony, Ashley, Tierra, Tanisha, Labbaron, Ketondrea, Stamps, Courtney, Adams, and Lawrence.

Marylee was a woman of many talents. She was an amazing cook and seamstress, and she could play the piano like a professional. She was also a devoted wife and mother, and her family was her life.

In 1990, Marylee and Willett moved to Chicago, Illinois, where they made a wonderful life together. They were married for over 50 years and were an inspiration to all who knew them.

Marylee was a strong woman of faith and was a member of True Solid Rock MB Church. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The funeral service for Marylee will be held on November 17, 2023, at True Solid Rock MB Church, 2300 W Roosevelt Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church in her memory.
