Albert Allen Harper, known fondly as "Big Al," passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 90. He was born on September 10, 1934, in Independence, California, and most recently resided in Santa Barbara, California.

Albert grew up at the Fillmore fish hatchery, fostering a lifelong love for the outdoors. He was an avid stream fisherman who cherished spending time in the high Sierras near a stream full of trout. Albert's passion for the great outdoors extended to his family, and he took great pride in teaching his five children the joys of fishing, camping, and boating. His proudest accomplishments were his children and the memories they created together.

A devoted family man, Albert was known for his warmth and great listening skills, making everyone feel accepted and understood. He loved to be at gatherings, happy hours, and picnics, where he found joy in watching others enjoy themselves. Albert had a particular fondness for country music and classical artists, often finding solace in their melodies.

In addition to his family, Albert was actively involved in his community, contributing to his church by planning outings and driving members who could no longer drive themselves. His kindness and generosity enriched the lives of those around him.

Albert is survived by his five children and four grandchildren, all of whom will carry on his legacy of love and adventure. He lived by the motto, "Never get in a hurry about anything," a testament to his calm demeanor and thoughtful approach to life.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
