Obituary

William “Wil” Reid 48 Southside Alabama passed away in the early morning hours, February 19 2023 with his close family and friends by his side. His trusted companion “Porkchop“ was laying in the bed right next to him when he went to be with the Lord. He was a devoted father and the best friend you could ever ask for. There was nothing he would not do for the people he cared about. He was a compassionate, gentle soul, that love life and cared more about others, and he did himself. He was a true, southern gentleman, and every sense of the word. Though small in stature, Will was a giant among men. He graduated high school in 1993 and sign the baseball scholarship the Mississippi State University. Even though God would have different plans Wil always handle every adversity with the same contagious smile and can-do attitude. He was a successful businessman at a very young age and an icon in the Commercial Laundry industry. He was the youngest person to ever be awarded a regional distributor. Wil approached every day as if it were his last and he never said goodbye without saying I love you. He lived a very active lifestyle and completed the Appalachian Trail start to finish in 1996. His passing was sudden and unexpected and this little part of the world is completely devastated and heartbroken by the loss of our friend. There are no words to describe just how impactful he was to so many people and he will be missed tremendously. He is proceeded in death by his father Ben Reid, grandparents, Wilbur and Dorothy Reid. He survived by his ex-wife Stacy, sons Kale , and Tucker Reid , five brothers and sisters and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are to be held at Hokes bluff funeral home February 20, 2023 from 1130 to 1:30 a celebration of Will’s life will be held on the family farm in Springville Alabama immediately after. Wil what is not only my hero he was also my baby brother whom I tried to replicate my life after. He was an honest, compassionate, gentle man that made sure you knew that he loved you and I will miss him tremendously Godspeed brother. I love you Bubba!!
