Joseph Kareem Jordan, known affectionately as Joey, passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 91. He was born on April 24, 1932, in Harlem, New York, NY, and most recently resided in Virginia Beach, VA.
Joseph had a multitude of hobbies that brought him joy, including chess, writing, painting, and photography. He had a discerning palate and savored dishes such as oxtail, snapper, and chicken foot. Joseph's musical taste was eclectic, with Burning Sparrow being one of his favorite bands. He found solace in the beauty of Jamaica, his favorite place in the world, and enjoyed watching the classic TV show Sanford and Son.
As a sports enthusiast, Joseph took pleasure in playing cricket and participating in cross country. Throughout his life, he was known by many as an author, leaving behind a legacy of written works. "Live Laugh Love" was his motto, reflecting his positive outlook on life.
Joseph's proudest achievements were being a devoted husband to Violet, a loving father to Joseph Jr, Allen, Charles, Amy, Joel, Andrew, Sandra, Kenneth, Lee, and Anthony, a doting grandfather, and a cherished great grandfather. His cheery, gitty, playful, and sweet personality traits endeared him to those around him.
Joseph impacted the lives of others by offering genuine and sincere advice, always bringing a realness and honest truth to every conversation. He was a firm believer in his Christian faith.
Joseph Kareem Jordan will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
