Obituary

Debra E. Lymneos, affectionately known as Debbie, was born on October 27, 1954, in Phil and passed away on September 19, 2024, in Chelsea, ME. She was a dedicated social worker for the State of Maine for 26 years, specializing as a Child Protective Worker, and later served as the Director of General Assistance for the City of Augusta for 12 years until her retirement in May 2023.

Debbie was married to Michael Lymneos, and together they shared a loving life. She is survived by her mother, Sophie Welsh, and her sister, Lida Saucier, along with her husband, Roland Saucier, and her beloved nieces, Merideth Saucier, Chris, and Eleysha Saucier and their families. She also leaves behind her cousins, Alfred and Nancy Tobies, Brother in Law and wife Charles Steve Lymneos,Her nice Kristin and Nephew Keith and Family as well as her cherished pets, including her oldest cat, Susie, and her new companion, Buddy.

Throughout her career, Debbie was known for her strong, caring, and compassionate nature. She impacted the lives of numerous individuals through her dedication to social work, always demonstrating consideration and respect for those she served. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she was actively involved in community organizations, including the 99s, a female pilot association, TOPS, and the Chelsea Historical Society.

In memory of Debbie, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
