Aneeta Lillian Hanna Fontaine, known to her loved ones as "Peedle," was born on February 23, 1936, in Coatesville, PA. She most recently resided in Upper Chichester, PA. Aneeta had a passion for various hobbies including bowling, sewing, quilting, and gardening. She possessed a remarkable talent for drawing and painting, which led to her acceptance into the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC at the age of 18. Aneeta had dreams of becoming a fashion designer.
Her love for bowling and spending quality time with family brought her immense joy. Aneeta also enjoyed watching hallmark movies and Grey's Anatomy on television. Additionally, she was a devoted fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. Aneeta was affectionately referred to as "Peedle" by those close to her.
Professionally, Aneeta dedicated herself to education and was honored as the Teacher of the Year in 1990. She married Herman T. Fontaine in 1967, and sadly, he preceded her in death in 1991.
Aneeta was blessed with a daughter named Iris Fontaine-Glover. She was also a proud grandmother to Makenna N. Glover and Marcus T. Fontaine-Glover. Aneeta was predeceased by her parents Owen and Elizabeth Hanna, her brother Robert H. Hanna, and her sister Mary F. Carter. She is survived by her brothers Owen Hanna, Carter Hanna, Barkley Hanna, and her beloved sister RoseLinda Campbell.
Aneeta's warm and compassionate nature endeared her to many. She was well-liked and known for her personable demeanor. Additionally, she actively participated in her community and was a devoted member of St. Daniel's United Methodist Church. Aneeta served as a member of the Aide Guild, Senior Usher, Vacation Bible School Superintendent, Youth Usher Advisor, Youth Advisor, Member of the Finance Committee, Church Van Driver, and Soup Kitchen volunteer. She was also a teacher in the Quilting Circle.
Aneeta Lillian Hanna Fontaine will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will be cherished and her legacy of love and kindness will endure. May she rest in peace.
